A brief analysis of Die Casting Mould

Die Casting mold is a tool used to cast metal parts, a tool that needs to accomplish the die-casting process on a specific machine. The structure and working principle of the die-casting mold are similar to injection mold, they all have a cavity as product share in the mold, the melted metal material will be injected into the mold cavity by die-casting machine.

 

Metal materials, die-casting machines, and mold are three elements of the die-casting project. Choosing suitable materials, matching with suitable molds and machines, can produce high-quality die-casting products. Some materials used in a die-casting mold: aluminum alloy, zinc alloy, magnesium alloy, copper alloy, etc.

 

The main process for die-casting mold manufacturing:

  1. According to the environment of the product and the raw material, structure, and tolerance, a detailed processing plan will be drawn.

  2. Confirm the shape of the mold structure, and design a reasonable parting surface and gating system.

  3. Core and ejection system design

  4. Confirm the capacity of the die-casting machine, and design a suitable mold base and cooling system.

  5. Check the dimensions of the mold and machine, and draw the geometry drawing of each component.

  6. Assembly.

  7. Test.
