Analysis of the function of the slider in the mold
The slide is a part that is widely used in injection molds and metal casting molds for direction conversion and side core pulling. Generally, when the product structure cannot be demolded normally, we can apply the slider to assist the demolding process, and this process will not influence the product structure.
In the molding, the slider is driven by the inclined guidepost and other structures to move in the chute, and complete the side core pulling purpose before demolding. Because of the different types of mold structure, the structure of the slider in the mold also quite varies on the shape, size, etc. At present, the sliders are in a combined type, which has higher position accuracy and coordination requirements. In the manufacturing of the slider and mold, it requires high precision on the dimension and shape, as well as the mutual position accuracy, moreover, the contact surface must have a low surface roughness to facilitate the lateral movement of the slider.
The molding surface of the slider requires good wear resistance and high hardness. The material that can be used is an alloy tool steel or hardened steel. We can get qualified material by strict heat treatments.
As one of the common structural components in the molds, sliders have derived many designs that are conducive to manufacturing. For instance, adding a slider on the slider, adding a lift on the slider, can provide more demolding solutions for products with complex structure designs.
