During the injection molding process, what are the reasons for the difficulty of plastic product demolding?

09-11-2021

There are many reasons for the difficulty of product demolding in plastic production, and the main reason comes from mold defects, such as:

1. The surface of the mold cavity is rough. If there are surface defects such as dents and scratches in the mold cavity, and the plastic material will easily adhere to the mold. Therefore, in the mold design process, the surface finish of the mold cavity and runner should be improved as much as possible.

2. The surface of the mold is worn. In this section, the worn part should be repaired to avoid the flash phenomenon.

3. Insufficient rigidity of mold steel. In the mold design, high rigidity mold steel must be adopted. And we can install a dial indicator on the mold to check whether the cavity and mold base is deformed or not during the injection molding process.

4. Insufficient draft angle. When designing and processing the injection mold, it is necessary to ensure a sufficient demolding angle, otherwise, it will cause demolding failure. If the plastic parts are forced out by the ejector rod, it will be easier to cause the deformation of the plastic parts.

5. The design of the ejector mechanism is unreasonable. When conditions permit, the engineers should increase the ejector rod as much as possible to ensure sufficient ejection mechanism, and control the ejection speed within its normal scope.

6. Poor exhaust system. The exhaust conditions of the mold should be improved, and air inlets should be set at the core of the mold.

7. Improper mold temperature control.
