Explore on Biodegradable Plastic Material
During our recently jar project for a Canadian customer, we've gone through and tested many kinds of biodegradable plastic material. Biodegradable plastics are plastics that decompose by the action ofliving organisms, usually bacteria. Two basic classes of biodegradable plastics exist: Bioplastics, whosecomponents are derived from renewable raw materials, and plastics made from petrochemicalscontaining biodegradable additives which enhance biodegradation.
PHBV: Injection available, food grade, totally decompose in nature.
Not suitable for thin wall(below 2mm), and too expensive for common usage products.
PHA: Polyhydroxyalkanoates.
Injection available, food grade, totally decompose in nature.
Not very economic for daily supplies.
PLA: Polylactic Acid
Injection available, good physical properties, economic.
Require compost for decompose.
D2W: Addings for decompose, not good enough in nature environment.
Additional Plant Fiber: Bamboo fiber, coffee fiber etc.
Effect the decompose rate, and not suitable for injection molding
