1. ABS
ABS is a plastic material composed of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene, which is an FDA-approval material. ABS has good physical and chemical stability and processing performance and can be used for food packaging.
2. HDPE
HDPE is commonly used in products such as milk bottles, plastic drink cups, and food bags. HDPE has good tensile properties and impact resistance and is an ideal choice as a food packaging material. The high heat resistance of HDPE can ensure the stability of the product in microwave ovens and other heating equipment. HDPE is also insoluble in most chemical solvents, which also ensures its safety in contact with food.
3. PMMA
PMMA is a transparent plastic material with excellent physical properties, like strength and stiffness. PMMA is often used in the packaging of dairy products, its transparency can improve the appearance of the food package.
4. PP
PMMA is a semi-crystalline material processed by the polymerization of propylene. PP material has a high melting point, and its products can be heated in microwave ovens. Common PP products include disposable lunch boxes, water cups, etc. PP is easy to expand when heated and it should be considered before project opens.
