How to reduce the odor of plastic material during injection molding?
Injection molding is a modern industrial technology that reshapes molten plastic through injection molds and is currently the most common method of plastic parts processing. In the injection molding industry, there is plenty of raw material, which have different properties.
Some customers, after visiting an injection molding factory, often have some questions about why some plastics have an odor during the molding process, they will consider whether there are some problems in the subsequent use. What is the reason for causing odor? And how to reduce its effect?
1. Pure material
In the molding process, use the purest raw material possible. For most of the raw materials containing impurities, the internal impurities will produce an unpleasant odor after heating.
2. Additives
The tert amines used in the production of polyurethane foam can bring odor. The solution is you can use polyhydroxy compounds to replace the part if the tert amines, so that the odor will be much reduced.
3. Adsorbent
You can fill a small amount of zeolite in the molding, which can remove the odor during processing.
Shanghai Future Mould specializes in the processing of injection molds, we can assure customers that we only use pure plastic raw materials in the molding process as required, and can provide customers with all material-related documents to ensure that the requirements of customers are met.
