Process requirements of PS material in injection molding
The full name of PS is polystyrene, which is a thermoplastic material with good fluidity, processability, and dimensional stability. It is widely used in household goods, electronic appliances, and other industries.
In the injection molding, the processing conditions of PS material are as follows:
1. Material drying. Under normal conditions, PS material does not need to be dried. In case of improper storage, it is recommended to dry at 80℃ for about 3 hours.
2. Melting temperature. The melting temperature of PS is between 180-280℃. For flame-retardant materials, the upper limit of the melting temperature is 250℃.
3. Mold temperature. During the injection molding process, the mold temperature needs to be maintained at 40-50℃. The injection pressure should be maintained at 200-600 bar.
4. Injection speed. In the PS molding process, a faster injection speed should be matched to ensure that the melted plastic can quickly fill the cavity.
5. Mold runner and gate type. No special requirements, all conventional types of gates can be used in PS material mold.
6. The chemical and physical properties of PS materials. Most PS materials are transparent and amorphous materials. PS has excellent dimensional stability, thermal stability, and electrical insulation. At the same time, PS has high chemical stability and can withstand weak acids in the application.
