The importance of mold temperature control
1. The influence of mold temperature on product appearance
A higher mold temperature can improve the fluidity of the melted plastic, and thus make the surface of the plastic parts smooth, especially some plastic products that use modified plastic material and can improve the rigidity and strength of the plastic products.
2. The influence of mold temperature on internal stress
The internal stress of plastic products is caused by the different thermal shrinkage rate of the products when they are cooled. After the product is formed in the cavity, the cooling direction gradually extends from the surface to the body. Normally, the surface of the products hardens first and then gradually moves to the inside of the product. The internal stress of the product will affect the service life and quality of the product.
3. The influence of mold temperature on product quality
If the cooling system of the mold is unreasonable or the temperature of the mold is not well controlled during the injection process, the quality of the plastic parts will be affected. If the mold temperature is low, the melted plastic will be cooled in the flow channel, and will not fill the cavity quickly and miss the best molding time. If the temperature is too high, the cooling of the melted plastic will be slowed down, and will not be cooled effectively before demolding, thus to cause the deformation of the plastic parts by the demolding mechanism.
At the mold design stage, we must have a clear understanding of which material is ready to use, and set up an appropriate mold cooling system by the characteristics of the material. at the injection stage, we must set the mold temperature suitable to match the product to ensure the quality of the products
