What are the reasons for flashes during the injection molding process?
The flash defect in the injection molding process mainly occurs at the joint positions of the mold, such as the parting surface of the mold and the sliders. The reasons for causing the flash in the injection molding process are as follows:
1. If the clamping force of the injection molding machine is insufficient, we should choose another injection machine with abundant clamping force, or we should check the injection machine carefully to see whether there are some breakdowns.
2. The distribution of the cavities is unreasonable. The poor exhaust system will cause gaps between the parting surface of the mold, leading to flash defects, so the engineers should install a sufficient exhaust system in the mold structure, or open a hole for venting on the parting surface.
3. Set a reasonable injection speed and heating temperature according to the fluidity of the melted plastic materials.
4. During the injection molding process, the set temperature, pressure, injection speed are too high, the engineers should adjust it as appropriate.
In the injection molding process, if the flashes happen on the products, the engineers can check the working condition of the injection molding machine and mold, and then adjust the mold and the parameters of the injection molding machine by the relevant solutions.
