Quality Inspection of Plastic Threads
In plastic injection molding, the quality of threads directly affects the functionality and performance of the product, such as sealing, connectivity, and durability.
Key Indicators for Thread Quality Inspection
1. Thread Dimensional Accuracy
The main dimensions of the thread (e.g., outer diameter, inner diameter, pitch, and thread angle) must meet design specifications.
Precision measuring tools or instruments are used for measurement.
2. Surface Finish
The surface roughness of the thread affects its fit and sealing performance.
3. Thread Integrity
The thread teeth must be intact and free of defects such as cracks, collapses, or burrs.
4. Thread Fit
The internal and external threads must fit smoothly without sticking or excessive looseness.
Standard mating parts are used for assembly testing.
5. Mechanical Properties
Test the tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and torque performance.
These properties can evaluated using tensile testing machines or torque testers.
